What is it like living in Davao City (D.C.), especially since its mayor, Rodrigo Duterte, is now President of the Republic of the Philippines?
Well, even before Digong was elected, we enjoy smoke-free Davao, as cigarette-smoking is banned.

Traffic here (so far) is okay, compared to Manila. There are speed limits of 40 kph and 60 kph, depending on the area. Speed guns and traffic cameras determine if you are beating the red light.
The malls, of course, are a different story. But why go to the malls when there are other attractions in the probinsha? =)
What is striking is, even after the elections, tarpaulins and car stickers with Digong's face or the closed fist sign, are still visible throughout the city; this time, not to campaign for, but to congratulate the mayor-turned-president.
Patriotic feels. Oh, and did you know that DC is only the third locality (after USA and Canada) where you can dial 911 in case of an emergency and get a response, FOR FREE?
I was so glad that my friend Jazz invited us on a "fieldtrip" to Davao City Central 911 Station. We got to see the fire trucks, pediatric ambulances, a large ambulance capable of treating 15 people at a time, and the command station. We also got to meet some of the friendly and capable employees of the unit.

It provides the following services:

It is evident that DC's taxes go here. More importantly, there are no political names emblazoned on any of the articles. Nakakaproud! Hopefully, other cities will have this too.
Thanks to my friends Jazz and Ammy for sharing their fieldtrip photos! =)
