I woke up groggy to the sound of Ate D's blaring radio. Even if I wanted to go back to sleep, I couldn't. Good thing J didn't have to go to work (physically) today. It has been a month since we had a yaya and the effects are probably taking its toll. I was feeling really tired, (insert other negative emotions here). We had planned a father's day dinner with J's dad. But come lunchtime, I begged off.
After P's afternoon nap, Dad soon arrived and off they (yes, the three of them only, plus a driver) went to Dencia's, an old-time favorite here in D.C. It's one of J's dad's favorite places to eat. J tells me his parents used to date there. So you know how "young" the establishment is. But when it comes to food, comfort is key for me. And nothing spells comfort better than Dencia's.

We had my afternoon off all planned out. Usually, I would rather go to the mall and do some shopping during my "me time." But today, I needed my "me time" at home. And I admit, tapos na ako magshopping this week, hahaha! I really wanted to finish the movie J downloaded, that is How to be Single. I know, medyo delayed na ang movie line up ko, pero when you are living alone in the probinsha with no one to look after your child so you can go out in peace, plus the fact that I cannot trust my child with just a yaya (Tiger mom, rawrrrr!!!), you have a must-see list as long as your grocery list. Ok na ba ang disclaimer ko ulit? Hahaha! Edit: If I had a trusted yaya and another helper in the house, I could proly leave P. Keyword: trusted.
Anyway, I loved the movie! It is a chick flick worth your 2.5 hours. It is not just for singles, but for us moms as well, as we can (only) reminisce the single lives we once had. Or wish we had.

Afterwards, I ate my dinner in peace. Ang sarap as in, to relish your food. Haha! I even vibed J, "Please come home late. Joke!"
Simple things such as a few hours of time out helps in rejuvenating oneself. Some folks exercise, go for massages, or paint. I like to read, be quiet, and maybe watch a nice, feel-good movie during my downtime.
Soon enough, my husband and daughter were back from their first away-without-a-female-companion trip! My first question to J was, "Did P miss me?" And his answer was, "No." Ganon??? Sige gawin niyo na yan every week ha!😂😂😂
So here's their takeout for me! Fresh lumpia (Php 35.00), lumpiang shanghai (the best!!! Php 165.00), and arroz caldo (Php 73.00).

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, and to all dads out there. Whether here, or in heaven, you are always remembered, loved, and much appreciated. ❤️❤️❤️
